Q. I have a sunny, upland site that I would like to transform into a Florida native wildflower habitat garden. Can you help me with that?
A. Yes! I can design, install and if needed, provide the ongoing management of your habitat garden for you.
Q. What locations do you serve?
A. I am based out of Ocoee, Florida and serve Ocoee, Winter Garden, Downtown Orlando and the surrounding areas.
Q. I want to rework some existing landscape by adding a few native plants. Can you help me with that?
A. No, I specialize in installing small scale, Florida native wildflower habitat on blank slate sites. I don’t rework other companies designs.
Q. I need help with the maintenance of my landscape. Do you provide management?
A. I provide management exclusively for my own work. I do not provide management for projects I didn’t design.
Q. Do you grow to order?
A. Yes. I grow to order for my design/installation clients. I grow some of the more challenging to find species to ensure they are available for our projects. Grow to order jobs need to be in the queue by November or December. Most species take 4 months to grow a 4” pot.
Q. Can I place an order for plants?
A. I am growing plants now exclusively for design and installation clients. If you’re interested in design and installation, please reach out.
Q. Can you suggest a book on Florida native plants?
A. There are so many great books on Florida native plants it’s hard to pick just a few. All of Craig Huegel’s books are wonderful. He really does a relatable job of explaining the concepts of gardening in Florida’s soil and plant communities as well as detailed profiles on many plants from a biologist/gardeners perspective. Another excellent resource is Native Plants for Florida Gardens by Stacey Matrazzo and Nancy Bissett.
