Fauna: Very popular among butterflies and other pollinators. Birds eat the seeds and small insects that come to nectar on the flowers. 

Field notes: Savanna blazing star is endemic to Florida with vouchered populations along western peninsular Florida from Tampa, south to Charlotte county. Deciduous during winter. Reseeds readily.
