Planting Considerations: October flower is a semi-woody perennial wildflower in the buckwheat family. It retains some of its basal leaves throughout the winter and starts to flush out more leaves on thin stems in the spring and later flowering in the fall, from September into October. Consider planting with Garberia (Garberia heterophylla), Pityopsis (Pityopsis sp.), Liatris sp. Elliot’s love grass (Eragrostis elliottii) and wiregrass.

Field Notes: Short lived perennial, may reseed.
