Planting Considerations: October flower is a semi-woody perennial wildflower in the buckwheat family. It retains some of its basal leaves throughout the winter and starts to flush out more leaves on thin stems in the spring and later flowering in the fall, usually in October. Consider planting with Garberia (Garberia heterophylla), Pityopsis (Pityopsis sp.), Chapman’s blazing star (Liatris chapmanii), and Elliot’s love grass (Eragrostis elliottii).

Field Notes: Short lived perennial, may reseed.
