These are new plants - as of 2/27/25 these are very lightly rooted.

Life Cycle: Perennial

Soil Moisture: Dry to moist, well drained sandy soil

Sun Exposure: Full sun

Height: 1-2’

Bloom Color: Beige

Bloom Time: Fall

Fauna: Seeds provide food for invertebrates and small birds. Birds use the foliage for cover. Larval food source for the Zabulon skipper.

Planting Considerations: Love grasses are beautiful additions to wildflower gardens, adding a billowy haze of texture when blooming in the fall. They can become dense and the blooms will break off after blooming and blow around, so they can come with a little extra management requirements of thinning and collecting blown away seed heads, or not, depending on personal preference.

Field Notes: Silvery blue-green foliage.
