Fauna: Firebush is one of the best nectar plants for our area, attracting bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. It is also a great food source for birds and small mammals with its abundant berries. Birds also often use it for cover.
Planting Considerations: Firebush is fast growing. It can be used as a specimen or in a mass planting. Planting in full sun will produce the most flowering.
Field Notes: Firebush is freeze sensitive but damaged parts can be trimmed back in spring and it will recover quickly.
